Welcome to ABC Music Studio

Allida Casper grew up in the Northern Virginia area. In High School she studied cello with Loran Stephenson of the National Symphony Orchestra. During this time she was selected to perform a piece with 50+ other cellists-lead by Yo-Yo Ma- at the Kennedy Center Honors in tribute to cellist, Mstislav Rostropovich. Mrs. Casper attended UNC Greensboro for 2 years studying with cellist Elizabeth Anderson. She then transferred overseas and received her bachelors in Cello Performance at Trinity College of Music (London, England)-studying with Naomi Butterworth.

She attended two intensive summer camps at Dartington International Festival in England and Medowmount in New York studying with cellist, Hans Jensen. Since returning to the States in 2001 Casper was an intern with the NSO Education Department at the Kennedy Center for the Arts. She then went on to pursue her teaching license at Old Dominion University in Virginia and taught general music and strings in the public schools (Chesapeake and Fairfax County) for 10+ years. During her time in Chesapeake, VA she also traveled to Turkey 3 times with the "Voice of Virginia" to do missionary work with other music educators teaching children musicals in weekly camps.

She has also done some professional recording work where she's arranged her own cello part for singer/songwriters. In addition, Mrs. Casper has 15+ years experience playing in weddings with various quartets, string trios, singers, and guitarists. Mrs. Casper resides in Elkridge, MD with her husband and two children. These days Mrs. Casper plays cello for weddings, at churches, and teaches private lessons.
