About Me
I've been playing and performing since the age of four (4), and instructing for the past 12-years. These days I play cello for weddings, at churches, teach private lessons, and take care of my young daughter. Other than music you can find me working out, and pursuing my new hobby of photography.
I grew up in the Northern Virginia area. In high school I studied cello with Loran Stephenson of the National Symphony Orchestra. I attended UNC Greensboro for 2 years with cellist Elizabeth Anderson. I then transferred overseas and received my bachelors in Cello Performance at Trinity College of Music-studying with Naomi Butterworth. I've attended two intensive summer camps at Dartington International Festival in England and Medowmount in New York. Since returning to the States in 2001 I was intern with the NSO education department at the Kennedy Center for the Arts. I then went onto pursue my teaching license at Old Dominion University and taught general music and strings in the public schools (Chesapeake and Fairfax County) for 10+ years. I've also done some professional recording work were I've arranged my cello part for singer/songwriters.
